The police have reminded the public that it is wrong to take the law into their own hands when dealing with someone accused of a crime.
This statement comes after a 58-second video was posted on Facebook showing two individuals arresting and assaulting a man in a vehicle who allegedly committed a theft.
Police Media emphasized that such actions are unacceptable, even if the person in question has committed an offense.
“It is not right to assault a person, regardless of their actions,” the statement said.
In the video, one of the individuals punched the alleged thief in the face while expressing satisfaction, saying, “It feels good.”
The assault continued until the man cried, with the assailant adding, “This is the pain for stealing,” and urging him to cry.
As a result of the repeated blows, the man sustained visible injuries, including swelling and bleeding on his face.
The clip has sparked significant debate on social media.
While some commenters supported the actions of the two individuals, others condemned the violence, stating that it is wrong to take justice into one’s own hands.
Police Media further stated that if the victim’s relatives report the incident, they will take action against those responsible for the assault.
