THE demand for shipping services in Choiseul Province has seen another private shipping firm operating into the province.
Provincial Secretary (PS) of Choiseul Provincial Government, John Tabepuda, last week said, Fairtrade shipping company has been eyed by the provincial government to start servicing the province.
“Fairtrade shipping company will be providing services to the province on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
“So far MV Channella has already serviced the province.”
But the provincial gov’t is yet to approve its shipping business licences,” Mr Tabepuda added.
He said, the management of the shipping company will be informed to apply for a business license.
“Our current executive is already aware and want the Fairtrade Company to operate in our province, So far, the boat already made two trips around the province including Taro few weeks ago.”
Its understood four shipping companies are currently providing shipping services in the province including the provincial owned Lauru Shipping Company Ltd.
