A FAMILY in Titiana Village, Western Province, is in mourning after a suicide incident at the village on Friday last week.
Reports from Gizo said the boy, who is in his early twenties and part Makira and Gilbertese, used to work as shopkeeper at a Chinese owned shop in Gizo but stopped because he was sick.
Although not medically diagnosed, villagers said the boy has a brain condition that caused him to have emotional mood swings.
Reports said his relatives were aware of the boy’s condition but were not fully aware of the severity of the situation as his mood swings are not frequent.
Therefore, on Friday morning when relatives discovered the boy’s lifeless body hanging inside his home, they were shocked.
Police in Gizo are now investigating the death of the young boy.
This boy’s death came just a month after another young student committed suicide at the Powerhouse area in Gizo.
