SPORTS continued to play a positive role in communities during the Christmas season.
Another community that attracted youths from surrounding communities with a seven-aside-knock-out competition was Aufasu cillage, East Malaita.
The village club hosted the competition starting on December 28.
It attracted 14 teams from surrounding communities.
Village elder Enoch Idui the village’s soccer club hosted the tournament to raise funds and also to engage people during the festive season.
“The competition went smoothly and organizers were pleased.”
Black Arrows won the top prize of $1000 after defeating AB who got away with $500.
He said not only players were engaged but a crowd of more than 800 people were pulled by the competition.
They thanked participating teams for their participation.
