THE third Assembly of God (AOG) National Youth Conference commenced yesterday with a parade in Honiara.
About 300 youths representing Western region, Eastern Region (Malaita), Central region (Honiara) and newly established Southern region (Guadalcanal) participated in the parade.
The theme of the conference is: ‘Equipping God’s Master Peace’ in Ephesian 2:10 in the holy bible.
Chairman of taskforce, Joseph Taunani said the aim of the conference is to empower the youths with evangelism to go back to their respective regions to lead other youths to Christ.
Taunani said the youths will engage in teaching sessions in the morning and night rallies at King George Six School from Monday to Thursday.
He said this year is special because Southern region came on board and the introduction of Evangelism Explosion teaching in it.
Taunani said there will be a youth forum on Thursday to elect a new national coordinator and discussed issues to spread the gospel to other areas outside the four regions.
He said the conference had come at the time that Parliament will elect the new Prime Minister tomorrow.
Therefore, the youths have use the occasion to declare Jesus to the Lord over the nation and whatever result that comes out, everyone should accept it.
The conference ends on Thursday and the youths will start departing the next day.
The first conference started in 2010 at Maranatha Hall, followed by second one in 2012 at KGVI School.
