The Malaita Provincial Police Commander (PPC) acting Timothy Apaesi has called on the Malaita general public to remain clam and stay out of politics and let politicians deal with politics.
The PPC acting made the call on Thursday ahead of the motion of no confidence to oust the Malaita Premier Peter Chanel Ramoihia and his finance minister Joe Heroau set for this Monday the 26th of September.
It is on this date that the Malaita full assembly will meet and debate the motion which will decide whether Premier Ramohia and his finance minister Joe Heroau will keep their positions or lose it to other members of the assembly.
“I appeal to the Malaita general public to stay calm and out of politics and let politicians deal with politics,” he said.
“Whatever the outcome of the motion of no confidence is, lets accept it,” he added.
He said let politicians do their work on that day, adding police will also do their work by providing maximum security for the event.
He requested the public to comply with police and respect police’s presence on Monday and work together with police to prevent any likely unlawful circumstance that may trigger on the day.
He said it is the hope of the police to work together with the public and communities to maintain law and order in the country.
