OVER the weekend thousands of families got together to remember and pay tribute to their mothers.
Mother’s Day, is an event that normally falls on the second Sunday of May.
This year, the event was commemorated yesterday.
For many, the celebration started on Friday and concluded yesterday.
It’s a time for families especially fathers and their children to show and express their gratitude to their mothers.
This is for bringing each and every one of us into this world and raising us to be who we are today.
Whatever you do in life, remember that your mother took care of you and shaped you into that person you are now.
Many took the opportunity over the weekend to say thank you to that special mother figure – a time to tell her how much she means to you.
Many children used the occasion to send their mothers special messages and greetings.
Some messages read;
“Thank you for being the greatest mum in the world. I feel so happy and proud to be your child. You are the most caring and loving person I know. Thanks for bringing me into this world and being there for me every day.”
Mothers are special because they are hardworking, our first teachers at home, they are caring when you are sick and can do multiple tasks.
They ensure there’s food on the table, hey carry us for nine months in their wombs and so many other responsibilities and for that, many of us should take time to acknowledge all the mothers out there.
These special women have gone the extra mile to earn a living through a full time job and at the same time tried to take care of their families.
They are the backbone of any home. A home without a mother is unbalanced because the role to take care of a family should involve a father and a mother.
There are some children who have lost their mothers many years ago.
Others just lost their mothers this year at the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak.
For them life has never been the same again without a mother at home.
With the Mother’s Day celebration now over, let’s continue to acknowledge our mothers. In fact, a Mother’s Day should be the daily norm.
It should be our practice to say thank you to our dear mothers each day.
To all mothers out there thank you for your support and contribution to ensure a home is able to function without much hurdles.
May God continue to bless your work and support.
Happy Mother’s Day!
