THE Honiara-based Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) has commenced its semester one lectures last week with an enrolment of 53 women and five men.
A statement from APTC said the successful applicants are undertaking hospitality, construction and agriculture courses.
“We are thrilled to kick off Semester 1, 2024 and welcome our new students!
“This week, APTC in the Solomon Islands welcomed our newest cohort, including 53 women and five men, in Hospitality, Construction and Agriculture courses at an orientation at the Kwaimani Skills Hub.”
As part of their commencement program, an orientation program was held last week allowing the students to learn more about APTC sand its programs.
“The student orientation was an opportunity for the new students to learn more about the APTC programs and connect with their trainers and fellow students.”
Sonia Luluku, who is pursuing Certificate II in Hospitality (SIT20322), was quoted saying she aims to build upon the skills she previously acquired at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU).
“I am excited to learn more and gain valuable experiences that will help me to deliver exceptional service to others in the tourism and hospitality sector.
“In the next six months, I aspire to refine my skills and cultivate a genuine passion for connecting with people,” Luluku said.
APTC is also inviting those interested in registering for micro-credentials in February and March to contact the APTC Town Ground Office in Honiara.
“Best wishes to all the new students! Here’s to an exciting learning journey ahead filled with knowledge and hands-on experiences!” the statement said.
Those who completed their studies and awarded certificates by APTC are recognised by the Australian Government and other regional countries.
Many students have graduated from APTC over the past years and are working in Honiara and abroad as well.
