THE Solomon Islands Archery Federation (SIAF) will kick off its program for this year starting this weekend.
SIAF president Richard Toke in a statement on Thursday confirmed training will start on Saturday at the Honiara High School Ground from 9 am to 3 pm.
The main aim for the upcoming training is to aid in the creation of a youth archery program with PVC bows.
It is a beginner and intermediate program which will involve mainly schools and clubs in Honiara.
“All the clubs and schools Affiliated to the Archery Federation will start their program this Saturday.
“Archery is a relatively unique sport, restricted to Honiara at present.
“Archery Solomon Islands is committed to advancing the sport nationally which truly embodies the inclusive spirit of the sport,” Toke stated in a statement.
Archery is now progressing under a newly elected executive.
Since it is one of the sports for the Pacific Games 2023, the new executive is doing all it can to prepare the best archery team the country has ever had.
