Dear Editor – The years are climbing slowly but firmly. We only realize the years are slipping away when the other ends. I am saying this because our beautiful Solomon Islands is still facing the same problems we faced many years back.
Why can’t we address old problems and prepare to face new ones? Facing the same old problems means we never fix anything or develop.
It is time our governments start looking at the long term planning instead of a four-year planning. I am saying this because I don’t think we are moving at all in fixing things our country needs fixing.
We instead continue to pay out millions to former militants? For goodness sake, let us stop this selfishness and start building this nation together.
We are now in 2016, are we going to be the same in 2020? I bet we will. People, let us come back to our senses and vote in god fearing leaders who have wisdom, such that God has given King Solomon of Israel.
Long live Solomon Islands, Happy New Year!
Paul King
