SUVA Volleyball Association has signed a new partnership with Digicel Fiji to promote the development of the sport at club level.
The mobile company has invested about $22,000 per year for a period of three years to assist club competition within the association.
SVA official Viliame Katia said they acknowledged Digicel for coming on board to assist the development of the sport.
“Our partnership with Digicel is more on grassroots level,” he said.
“It is not only for Suva but for volleyball as a whole.
“We thank Digicel for taking care of our multipurpose court costs, which means our gate takings will be directed towards the development of the sport.”
Katia said they would also focus on other parts of the country.
Last year, the association toured Vanua Levu to help spread the gospel of volleyball.
Digicel Fiji commercial director Andrew Skelton said they were happy to be associated with Suva.
“We’re very happy to be part of this grassroots sponsorship program to support the people who are playing the sport,” Skelton said.
