MEMBER of Parliament for Gizo/Kolombangaraand Minister for Education and Human Resources, Honourable LanelleTanangada has acknowledged athletes for uniting the nation through their performances in sports events regionally and internationally.
She made the acknowledgement at the National Parliament on Monday.
“To our sportsmen and women, athletes and soccer teams, both boys and girls, you always unite this country when you perform to the best internationally.
“Thank you for competing and promoting that unifying responsibility and spirit,” she said.
Next year, Solomon Islands is going to host the biggest sporting event in the Pacific, the 2023 Pacific Games.
Having the country’s athletes competing and representing the country will once again will once again be a unifying factor for the people of Solomon Islands.
Solomon Islands will have the biggest team to compete against other Pacific Island nations.
