ATOIFI Adventist College’s Youth Ambassador Pathfinders and Adventurers (YAPA) over the weekend conducted a training at Oloburi for Pathfinders and Adventurers of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church there.
Atoifi and Oloburi are located in East Kwaio, Malaita Province.
This training was aimed at teaching leaders of adventurers and pathfinders how to use adventurer and pathfinder materials, how to start classes and about the roles of YAPA leaders.
Atoifi YAPA Team Leader Harry Samuel confirmed this to Solomon Star in an interview early this week.
“The training focused on teaching leaders on how to teach using the pathfinder and Adventurer material and how to start classes and the roles of the leaders who will lead these young people.
“It was aimed at strengthening the Adventurer and Pathfinder Department at Oloburi for next year,” Mr Samuel said.
Topics covered during the training were leadership roles for adventurer and pathfinder leaders, duty of YAPA Director, how to conduct an induction ceremony and how to conduct an investiture program.
These trainings were held on Saturday and Sunday.
After the intensive training, Freedom Link Media conducted a music video shooting session.
This video shooting is for their outreach program.
Mr Samuel said Oloburi adventurers and pathfinders were excited about the training and the music video shooting session.
This training was conducted shortly after the mini camporee hosted at the Atoifi Height Camp site three weeks ago.
At the conclusion of the camporee, young people lit their candles as a symbolizing their commitment to shine out the light of Jesus Christ to in their communities.
