Auki central market in Malaita province continues to maintain its high standard of hygiene as part of keeping its surrounding environment clean and tidy at all times.
A visit by the Solomon Star to the market on Monday noticed a high security presence to keep an eye on the market vendors and the public to ensure market users enjoy a clean market while doing business transaction.
Auki central market acting supervisor Derick Hou said his officers alway keep a close watch on the market premises to ensure cleanliness inside the market is maintained at all times.
He acknowledged the market vendors and farmers in ensuring the market premises is clean at all times.
That;’s why people always think of respecting the market and act on high responsibility of concern towards the market premises.
“We use to clean the market every morning before the market opens and later in the afternoon,” Mr Hou said.
Market revenue collector Richard Iro said, farmers and market vendors in Auki always show respect and have positive behavior towards each other.
He calls on all Auki market vendors and farmers to maintain attitude of keeping their environment clean at all times.
