Honiara rugby union association league champions Matangiki rugby club will have their first of their two friendly matches today at the Aligegeo stadium at 3pm.
According to Malaita rugby union association (MRUA) president David Fiumae, the Honiara champs will have a taste against one of the young and upcoming stars in Auki, the Auki Select side.
Fiumae said the Auki Select compromises of players from the various clubs in and around Auki namely, AYC, Akan, Ailako, Kwaibala and Auki Tiger’s rugby clubs.
“I hope my boys will put on a good show against the mighty Matangiki side which is dominated by some of our senior national rugby players.”
He said, the second friendly match will be on Thursdayat 3 pm also at Aligegeo stadium.
“I urge the public in Auki to come and witness this two important rugby matches as part of promoting rugby in the province.”
