Auki futsal association will again stage another series of futsal competitions starting next week in Auki, Malaita province.
Speaking to the paper yesterday president of Auki futsal association Terry Oiaka said, the competition will kick off this weekend – Saturday 2nd of August.
Mr Oiaka said, the competition will be organized in the open category and all futsal teams in and around Auki are invited to join.
“This is to maintain futsal in the province alive and to keep all teams and players fit for the Auki futsal league to start later this year,” Mr Oiaka said.
He added by organizing such competitions it helps to improve the players with their playing skills.
“In the recent Yandina futsal competition teams from Malaita won the first prize and the third prize in the competition showing that we are improving,” Mr Oiaka said.
Prizes for the upcoming competition will be; first prize – $800 cash plus a trophy.
Second prize will be a cash prize of $500-00.
