AUSTRALIA, one of Solomon Islands leading development partners, is set to bolster tourism operations in Malaita Province.
This commitment was highlighted last Thursday with the signing of agreements with three prominent local tourism operators – BH Family Lodge, Taflabana Guest House and Haodaikirio Homestay.
This support will enable these operators to refurbish their accommodations and collaborate with local tour guides to enhance the overall tourist experience.
For Malaita, this initiative is expected to strengthen its tourism sector, boost local businesses, and create more job opportunities within the province.
The Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Rod Hilton said Malaita Province has received a significant portion of projects funded by the Australian government compared to other provinces in the country.
He expressed satisfaction in delivering these projects to Malaita and emphasized the region’s potential for tourism sector growth.
