THE Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) Country Director for Solomon Islands and Kiribati, Abigail Chang says APTC recognises that Technical Vocational Education Training (TVET) plays a crucial role in educating and upskilling Solomon Island citizens for economic prosperity.
The APTC Country Director Ms Chang highlighted this during her official speech at the APTC Solomon Islands Semester 2, 2024 Graduation ceremony held at SSEC Central Church Hall last Thursday.
“APTC recognises that TVET plays a crucial role in educating and upskilling Solomon Island citizens and is essential for economic prosperity.
“As Australia’s significant TVET investment in the Pacific and Timor-Leste, at APTC we pride ourselves on being a center for training excellence and collaboration with local partners,” Ms Chang stressed.
She thanked the graduates for the opportunity and skills they share with them (APTC) in their development journey.
“We trust that you will continue striving to be the best that you can be in your chosen field of work and continue to build on these skills that you have gained with us at APTC.
“After receiving your award today, you will become part of the APTC alumni.
“I encourage you to stay connected through the APTC Solomon Islands alumni chapter,” she added.
All the graduates have met the requirements of their course of study as conferred by TAFE Queensland and delivered through the Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) and in accordance with the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Ms Chang congratulated the 154 graduates and their families on the momentous occasion.
“This is a proud moment for you, your families, your trainers and everyone who has contributed to this result.
“Many of you have navigated challenging responsibilities, balancing family, work and career aspirations to reach this moment.
“Your determination and your resilience continue to inspire us all and today’s ceremony is a testament to your hard-earned achievements,” the APTC country director said.
Meanwhile, as part of the APTC’s crucial boost to its Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) partners, the Bishop Naramana Institute of Technology in Isabel Province to support the TVET sector Training Institute to enhance its learning experience.
APTC and Bishop Naramana Institute of Technology are committed to providing quality TVET across Solomon Islands.
They are collaborating with the Solomon Islands National Youth Congress (SINYC) to empower 153 young minds, including 78 women, from Auki, Gizo, Munda, Guadalcanal and Honiara in a Virtual Youth Skills Hub Dialogue highlighting the transformative impact of TVET in unlocking employment prospects.
Australia is a key enabler of education and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in Solomon Islands, helping to strengthen and promote employment and economic development through APTC.
APTC is the Australian Government’s major investment into TVET in the Pacific and Timor-Leste.
