A combined team of rugby champions, Avaiki and Matangiki participated in the
2016 PAC Sevens Rugby Tournament at the DC Park Rugby Field, Henderson on Saturday.
The team was formed under the banner “Events First Rugby 7s Team” purposely to meet the objective of ongoing rugby campaign to unite Renbel players and help maintain the game that is loved by all.
Players were selected from the Rugby Champions Challenge that successfully ended last week Thursday 19th May, 2016.

– Teofa Rugby Club
POOL B
– SINU Team Blue
– HammerHeads Sharks
– HammerHeads Baby Sharks
– SINU Team Yellow
Despite lack of rest having just completed the 3 weeks tournament, the players of Events First team put forward their best to come out winners of the 2016 PAC Sevens Rugby Tournament.
“Our boys won all pool games, semi and grand final which was a good closure to a busy month of rugby for the players.”
Prior to the games, players were reminded of the key messages that were motto for the Rugby Champions Challenge, which is “good sportsmanship” and “for the love and pride of the game”.
The positive outcome elevated the morale of players who participated, in recognising the need for unity in the game and helping them reach their true potential.
Being part of the 2016 PAC Sevens Rugby Tournament was also a positive step forward for all rugby teams in Honiara who participated.
The event is hosted by the HammerHeads Rugby Club and is their 3rd organised rugby event for the year.
