Avaiki rugby club once again prove their dominance by winning the Umi Kaban Easter rugby 7s tournament in Honiara on Saturday 4th April.
They overcame their rivals Diesel Services 21 – 5 in the epic grand final in front of a good number of rugby fans and public.
Reports reaching Star Sports revealed the game started off with intense pressure from both sides, complemented with a handful of national reps in both teams going at each other for the first 10 minutes.
However, in the end the perfect combination and coordination of the Avaiki team prove vital for their victory after the final whistle.
Earlier in the day a determined Realas teams overcame the might of the Henderson Hammerheads in the 3rd and 4th playoff.
Avaiki walked away with $3000 cash prize, followed by Diesel who walked away with $1800. In 3rd place, Realas walked away $800 and HHH got $500 fourth prize.
Tournament organizers would like to acknowledge the generous sponsorship of Umi Kaban Liquor Haus for sponsoring the major prizes.
The consolation prizes were sponsored by SIRUF and was given to Solly Seuika of Avaiki for the top try scorer and George of Diesel for the player of the tournament.
