AVAIKI rugby club clinched back to back Easter 7s title on Monday with a hard fought 24-21 win over Henderson Hammerheads (HHH) in the grand final of the Solomon Rugby Easter 7s tournament.
The final was contested on an equal footing in the first half but a red card for a HHH player in the second half for a second yellow handed the numerical advantages to Avaiki.
Avaiki held on in the remaining minutes of the second half to seal their second consecutive Easter 7s crown in two years.
Auki Tigers secured 3rd place while the national Under-18 side grabbed the 4th position.
The national U-18 are currently preparing for the Oceania U-18 Championship which also set as qualifiers for the 2018 Youth Olympics.
Oceania Rugby revealed the U-18 Championship will be held from April 21-22 at St Ignatius College in Sydney, Australia.
