The Ministry of Communication and Aviation on Wednesday paid all its outstanding dues of last year to maintenance contractors of 22 airports throughout the country.
Permanent Secretary Francies Lomo said the payments were delayed last year due to financial constraints face by the ministry.
Mr Lomo said the ministry will put out tenders for the tasks again after these payments are received by current groups engaged.
The payments were made to maintenance contractors of Balalae, Mono, Gizo, Munda, Seghe, Taro, Suavanao, Fera, Marau, Gwaunaru, Manaoba, Atoifi, Kirakira, Arona, Santa Ana, Lata, Lomlom, Tingoa, Bellona and three others.
