The ministry of communication and aviation is planning to inspect more runways in airstrip around the country.
Director of aviation George Satu last week for this year inspection will be conducted at Lomlom in Temotu province and Suavanau in Isabel province.
In the case of Lomlom since the runway is new they would inspect it to make sure the runway meets the required standard.
Its understood the airstrip has been completed awaiting the inspection.
For Suavanao, the inspection will be to find out whether the runway can be extended.
Mr Satu said their plan is to inspect most of the airstrips around the country to ensure they meet safety standard.
Meanwhile the director urged communities living next to any of the airport to report to them should there be any problem encountered.
