A FEMALE expat working for an international Non Government Organisation (NGO) in Honiara is offering a cash reward for the return of her stolen iphone.
She told the Solomon Star someone grabbed the phone out of her hands at the Borderline Bus stop on January 19.
“I and my three friends were there in a car to pick up another friend on the evening of January 19,” she explained.
“I was on the back seat of the car and the window was opened halfway due to the heat,” she added.
“Due to the potholes, the car was moving very slowly when all of a sudden a man reached in a grabbed the phone right out of my hands.
“My friends tried chasing him but he was too fast.
“He was approximately 175cm tall and wearing a white cut shirt and white jean shorts that time.”
The expat said her hands were slightly injured in the altercation, but overall she was OK.
She further explained the phone was a new iphone 8, white, in a black case.
“It was a recently purchased phone. I bought it specifically for my work in order to make videos and take good quality photos for the projects I am engaged in the rural communities.
“All my work and personal information were in the phone.
“I am offering a cash reward for anyone who can bring back the phone to Naha police.”
The Borderline Bus stop is known for phone theft and the public is advised to keep their phones away when in the area.
