SOLOMON Islands National Bodybuilding Federation (SINBF) is ready to host the National Body building & Physique championship at the Multipurpose Hall, this weekend.
Vice president of the Solomon Islands National Bodybuilding Federation (SINBF), Dickson Kae confirmed to Star Sports that local bodybuilders vying to compete in the national championship are all prepared and are looking forward for the show.
“Top athletes from our four local body building clubs are set to challenge each other in this championship,’’ he said.
The four clubs are Multipurpose Hall bodybuilding club, Hatanga club, Swet Box and Auki bodybuilding club from Malaita province.
“In terms of preparation our local bodybuilders are well prepared for this event,’’ he added.
“We are looking at around 30 athletes to compete in this national championship.
The event will be used to select potential bodybuilders who will be representing the country in Fiji next month, at the 2018 South Pacific Bodybuilding Championship.
Speaking to Star Sports during a visit to the Multipurpose Hall camp, Robert Junior said he is prepared for the show with an aim to snatch gold in his category as well as to secure a place for the next month’s South Pacific Bodybuilding Championship in Fiji.
Noel Andrew from Swet Box bodybuilding club told Star Sports he is also prepared just like the other contenders that will compete this weekend.
“I’ve been preparing for this national championship three months ago.”
He stressed, this will be his second time to compete in the national championship.
Other local athletes expressed similar sentiments adding the show set for this Saturday will be an interesting one to watch as judges will determine who will win each categories.
The show will start on Saturday afternoon at the Multipurpose Hall.
