BETIKAMA Adventist College (BAC) chapel was rededicated yesterday.
The chapel was rededicated by the President of the General Conference (GC) of the Seventh Day Adventist Church Pastor Ted Wilson in a small ceremony.
The chapel was renovated in June last year.
School principal Francis Leovania welcomed the president and his delegation, saying it was an opportunity to meet the GC president and rededicated the chapel.
President Ted Wilson said it was a great privilege to reopen the chapel.
“This would help to receive the foundation as knowledge of God,” he told the students and staff of Betikama.
“This is my first time to the Solomon islands. I hear a lot about this school, Betikama, and it is great to be here.”
He also take time to advice the students to make a difference in their communities, the Church and the nation as a whole when they left school.
President of South Pacific Division (SPD) Pr Barry Oliver who is currently accompanying the President said the students are so privilege to meet the world leader and GC President of the SDA church.
Pr Wilson also visited Betikama cemetery and paid tribute to the pioneer leaders of the SDA church.
Earlier yesterday after arriving from Kukudu, Kolombangara, Western province the President also met with the Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo.
PM Lilo later hosted a lunch in honour of Pr Ted Wilson and his delegation at the Mendana hotel.
