Dear Editor – I’d like to say something about the bachelor of teaching primary under- School of Education and Humanities Science (SOEH).
Before I comment, first and foremost I would like to thank the Management of SOLOMON ISLANDS NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (SINU) and the administrative for their working together with positive decision to implement the degree courses in the School of Education and Humanities (SOEH) for teaching secondary, primary and early childhood education as of next year (2015)
As a primary teacher, I was graduated with certificate and later with Diploma in teaching Primary (IN-SERVICE). Now, I wish to apply for the bachelor programme as mentioned above. Thus, I need clear explanation as I already pass my unit (course) with credit for Diploma in teaching Primary.
However, if I apply and accepted, will I continue with all students for three (3) years or joining the on- going final year students in Bachelor of teaching secondary next year (2015) with primary units (courses)? What is the process that I’m going to do or follow??
This is not a criticism for what the University (SINU), school of education and Humanities (SOEH) offer for next year but a need for further clarification.
