SOME schools in Honiara have been forced to close their doors due to the continuing inclement weather.
The Solomon Star was told that some schools postponed classes as of Tuesday.
One parent said he had received a text message from the administration of the school his children are attending that classes would be postponed until further notice. This, he said, was due to the continuing bad weather generated by tropical cyclone Lucas.
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service has since canceled the weather warning associated with tropical cyclone Lucas.
However, it said its heavy rain warning was still in force for all provinces.
Bad weather has caused extensive damages in parts of the country, particularly in Western Province where tourism operators are still counting the cost.
No deaths have been reported.
