NADI, ( FIJI TIMES) —The Pacific’s fastest man Ratu Banuve Tabakaucoro has set his focus on securing a spot at the Rio Olympics next year.
The Bau bullet said he was not surprised to break the 200m games record.
“As for the Olympics I will try and qualify first as I still have 0.03seconds off the mark in PNG,” said Banuve.
“I still have another chance at the world championship in China and now I will go back to basics and carry on with my preparation.
“As for the PNG games, I was not suprised to break the 200m games record and I am pleased with my performance.”
He said the competition was tough and commended all Fijian athletes who represented the country at the meet.
Banuve won gold medals in the 100m and 200m and also helped Team Fiji to claims silver medals in the 4 X100m and 4X400m relays.
