Basketball fans and supporters are in for some tough basketball action with two strong friendly matches line up for this weekend.
The Solomon Islands Basketball Federation (SIBF) has confirmed these two matches to be played after the high school basketball league match.
The national women’s basketball team will take on a mixed High School select side from the current High School basketball league.
This match is set for 1:30pm on Sunday September 10 at the Multipurpose Hall.
The second friendly match will see the men’s national team take on a strong Honiara Select side at 3pm.
The country’s basketball squads have been preparing for the past months to take part at the first ever Melanesian Cup Basketball competition in Papua New Guinea (PNG).
The competition is very important for both the men’s and women’s basketball squad as it will determine whether they will take part in the upcoming 2019 Pacific Games.
