THE staging of the annual Miss Solomon Islands beauty pageant for this year remains unclear.
Two young girls who wish to participate in this prestigious event said they were told it is yet to be decided whether the beauty show will be hosted or not.
According to the chairman of Miss Solomon beauty pageant organising committee Tony Koraua, although he was given the franchise to do it, he did not intend to run it this year, as he had so much on his plate with the general elections around the corner.
“I don’t know who’s going to run it. It’s up to whoever can take over to do it,” he said.
The reigning Miss Solomon, Tema Wickham also said she is not sure if the committee is still running.
However, Ms Wickham will conduct a fundraising on Friday night to raise funsd for Honiara netball association to help women in sport.
Solomon Islands successfully hosted the Miss South Pacific Pageant last year that saw Miss Cook Islands Teuira Rachel Napa, crowned Miss South Pacific 2013.
