THE current harvest period for Beche-de-mer in Solomon Islands will be ceased at the end of April.
Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) made this known to the Solomon Star in a statement on Thursday.
“All activities relating to bech-de-mer harvesting will cease on April 30, 2019,” the statement said.
It also added that application for export license for bech-de-mer will close on February 15, 2019.
“The Ministry of Fisheries licensing section will not accept any more application after that date,” it stated.
Meanwhile, the ministry said those with export license therefore have exactly two months after the close of harvest to dispose off their products.
“All export must be made by June 30, 2019,” the statement concluded.
