BELAHA community in North Central Guadalcanal celebrated Saint Vincent de Paul’s day over the weekend.
Catholic churches around the world usually celebrates the feast day of Saint Vincent De Paul this time around every year.
The feast day was marked with a holy mass for new couples who received their sacrament of marriage and young children receiving their Holy Communion.
Hundreds of people from nearby villages attended the celebration.
The parish priest Fr Raul Castro gave sacrament of marriages to seven couples and 35 children receives their Holy Communion.
Fr Castro reminded the new couples and children who received sacrament of marriages and Holy Communion to know the blessings is a covenant from God.
“Couples you are now receiving a blessing in union with God so respect and submit to your partners”.
“Children the Holy Communion is a path to work in fellowship with God,” he said.
Mr Castro urged couples and children who wish to have their sacrament of marriages and Holy Communion to consult him.
He acknowledged those who have humbled themselves to receive the blessings and to maintain their working fellowship with Christians as they save God.
Meanwhile Catechist Peter Tadataolo acknowledged everyone who attended the program and encouraged them to prepare for another similar program for next year.
