Catholic operated Bishop Epalle school is organising a bazaar this coming Saturday.
As part of kicking off preparation the school on Friday launched a flag banner with the theme: “Help Bishop Epalle School’ written on it.
The launching marked days ahead of the actual Bazaar day which will be held this coming Saturday 31st May, 9:30 am at the school grounds.
At the launch Sr Susie, the chair-lady of the 2014 in-school bazaar committee reflected on the theme for this year saying it to be timely, genuine and a fitting one.
She humbly appeals on parents and relevant stake holders to simply help Bishop Epalle School.
She urged the school community to make a difference this bazaar. While she spoke on the importance of sharing and giving, she strongly encouraged the students, staff, parents and friends to come out in numbers to support the raiser for a good cause.
The chair-lady anticipates all parent participation with a good turn out this coming Saturday’s Bazaar.
The most recent PTA has resolved that this year’s bazaar collection will go towards the phase 2 of the administration block.
The project which is funded by the PTA coupled with an annual bazaar being the major drive, the double storey complex which now on a foundation stage comprises of the administration and the library upstairs.
The completion of the project becomes essential following the experiences of the last April flash flooding which left some indication that the current secondary “gravel floor” staff room is not secure to withstand future higher flooding and other possible disasters.
The bazaar committee has again established six zones based on parents/guardians residential spread within the Honiara city and the out skirts.
With a target amount to raise, each zone will be allocated a stall and to do the bazaar.
The chair-lady also announced that $2060.60 which is the coin drop contribution from students, staff and supporters forms the opening balance money raised.
The school principal Mr. Ambrose Dolofera applauded the committee and urged the school community to transcend the initial contribution into a much higher target than the previous bazaars.
As the 2014- bazaar is now officially open, the chair-lady calls on the respective zone group to start raising funds and to conclude it on a high mode on the actual bazaar day.
The head of secondary, Mr. Cephas Teiraru believes that apart from raising funds for the school, the bazaar which comes once a year also gives an unique opportunity for the school community to meet, interacts and to equate our children’s educational aspirations.
Bishop Epalle Catholic School annual bazaar is almost the biggest school bazaar of this century around town.
