Temotu outgoing premier Fr Brown Beu has described the former Lilo led NCRA government for failing to fulfilled its promises to the province.
Beu revealed this to the Solomon Star in an exclusive interview on Monday in Lata.
He said when Lilo delivered his speech at the Temotu second appointed day, the former Prime Minister Lilo promised airport in Pele constituency which was completed.
He promised to VATUD people that government would purchase a ship for them.
“Although I’m aware of government released funds already for Vatud but the funds never used for purchased a ship.”
For Nende, Lilo promised that government would establish an international sea port which never eventuated.
Although Graciousa bay landowners were kind enough to allow their land and process of land acquisition reached a stage of no appeal certificate from magistrate.
“No appeal case for that project”.
And these are some government unfulfilled promises, he said.
Premier Beu explained that the former Vatud MP Clay Forau Soalaoi has invited him with Temotu provincial government chief planning officer Bronox and provincial minister of commerce Edwin Maebir to meet him in Honiara last year.
“Forau told us that we can purchase a ship and there is a lawyer working on that proposal till then nothing has been eventuated.”
Beu called on the new government that would be formed to stop making false promises but to ensure such projects must happen.
He said it is important that the newly elected MPs of three constituencies in Temotu must work together to push for Temotu development.
