Temotu provincial premier says the newly upgraded Lomlom airport on Reef Islands in Temotu province would economically boost the proposed trade link between Vanuatu and the province
Fr Brown Beu highlighted this in an interview with Solomon Star on Monday.
He said that Temotu province plans to export commodities to Vanuatu but find it hard due to lack of proper runway.
“Now since we have new runway ready to open it would economically boost our proposed trade link between Vanuatu and Temotu province.
“We have plans to export our products to Vanuatu but find it hard to export our products due to lack of proper runway,” he said.
Meanwhile Fr Beui also thanked the outgoing NCRA government and the aviation funding support for making it possible to build the run way.
Its understood a test flight to the airport is expected next week.
