The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) has drawn up a preparation training plan and tour program for the national U-17 men’s football team for next year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru.
The Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) Media Officer Simon Abana confirmed this to Star Sports on Monday.
“SIFF has a plan and tour program for the boys in preparation for the World Cup,” he said.
“Our plan includes training and tours in overseas for their preparation leading up to the World Cup in Peru next year.
“Our main destinations for their tours will be in Asia, Europe and South American,” he said.
He said according to their proposed plan the young lads will heading to Japan for the Asian tour, England and Spain for the Europe tour and Argentina for the South American tour.
Abana also confirmed the national U-17 will start off their preparation on 7th of November at the SIFF Academy.
“Head coach, Stanley Waita has informed the boys that their training session will begin on the 7th of November.
“The boys will camp at SIFF Academy and will go ahead with their training programs.
“Most of the boys are in Honiara except for the provincial boys,” he said.
He said the tour and camp in overseas will take place early next year.
Meanwhile, New Zealand and Solomon Islands will represent OFC in the FIFA U-17 World in Peru next year.
The Youth World Cup is scheduled from October 5th to 27th, 2019 in Peru.
