BIOMETRIC Voters Registration has started in Malaita Province since Monday in accordance with the registration timeline.
Registration Officers in all Registration Centres in the province’s 14 Constituencies commenced the registration exercise on Monday.
Information obtained by Solomon Star Auki confirmed registration in the past two days in some areas have been slow as some people are still making their way to their respective constituencies to register.
However, in other parts of the province registration is in full swing, especially in constituencies where intending candidates chattered ships to carry intending voters from Honiara to get registered and vote for them.
One of the constituencies where registration is in full swing is Fataleka where a ship that transported intended voters from Honiara to the constituency to get registered is berthed at Ata’a awaiting the completion of their registration to transport them back to the National Capital.
Registration for the Aoke-Langa Langa and Central Kwara’ae constituencies is also in full swing since the past two days.
Eligible voters over the age of 18 and wish to take part in the 2024 National General Election are given a month to do so.
Registration closes on Friday 29 September.
