THE Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Gizo, Peter Houhou’s pastoral visit to the diocese’s Voruvoru Parish in Choiseul from December 8 to 11 was eventful and spiritually-enriching.
A statement from the Gizo Diocese Media Office said Bishop Houhou’s visit covered Kandova village, Tutu village and the Voruvoru Parish Mission Station.
The statement said during the visit, parishioners flocked in to witness the Diocesan Bishop evoke God’s blessings on their communities.
It said 100 parishioners received the Sacrament of Confirmations, while 10 received their first Holy Communion during the pastoral visit.
The statement said it was a well-prepared visitation programme, during which Bishop Houhou gave everyone the opportunity to feel the presence of the Lord in the Church.
It said Bishop Houhou also visited isolated communities as far as Choiseul in the northeast, where he blessed the elderly and children and visited and met with others, including those with disabilities.
