THE Solomon Islands Body Building Federation (SIBBF) is considering of sending the team that have represented the Solomon Islands in the last year’s Body building championship held in Papua New Guinea for the upcoming Pacific Games.
This was revealed to Star sport by the SIBBF president, Pius Maemae on Tuesday.
Maemae said the federation considered the team based on their experiences and they are still onto their top form.
He said it will be tough to prepare a team within a short time and the best option for the federation is sending a team which already got the experiences and also won medals during last year’s championship.
In the meantime the federation is still awaiting confirmation from NOCSI to be part of the Team Solomon contingent to the Pacific Games in five months time.
Earlier last week Maemae said the body builders are continuing their training while waiting for their confirmation.
“Once the confirmation is done we will step up preparations for the Games.
“At the moment we are continuing our training while waiting confirmation from NOCSI,” he said.
Meanwhile President of NOCSI, Martin Rara said a confirmation letter will be delivered to the federation soon.
Bodybuilding has done well for the country in its recent outings.
Last year they won three medals, one gold, two silvers and three bronze medals during the Oceania Body Building Championship held in Tonga in 2013.
