SOLOMON Islands national defender Michael Boso described his move to Suva FC as a way out to help maintain his confidence.
Boso told Star Sports that this is because he was not given enough play time during his time with Team Wellington.
He said though he played in many friendly matches, he was not given time to play in actual league matches during his time spent in New Zealand.
“I almost spent six months playing a lot of friendly games in Wellington trying to prove to the coach that I am ready.
“Following a long wait which includes patience, hard work and discipline I was not included when it comes to game time.
“Recently, we played against Tasman United the coach came to me and said be ready you are in the team.
“During the warm up before the match, I was then told by the coach that I was not in the team list for the match,” Boso testified.
Therefore, he said he was so disappointed and decided to leave the professional club.
“Otherwise, I would lose my confidence,” he said.
Boso was called up to join the Oceania champions after the Oceania Champions League last year.
The towering defender was confident the Club World Cup was his time to show the world of his potential.
However, he was not given a chance to play but was impressed to have experienced being part of a champion football club playing in the FIFA Club World Cup.
There have been many criticisms on social media following his move to Fiji.
Many said he is after the money.
However, Boso dismisses these criticisms saying this was for his own good.
