A WELL-KNOWN Brazilian performing arts group, the “Rio Entertainers-Copacabana” will be coming to town this month.
The eight-member dance group arrives on the 28th to put on three shows in Honiara.
Two at the Kitano Mendana Hotel on March 29 and 30 while the third will be at the Multi-Purpose Hall on March 31 for the public.
They will also be doing a demonstration at the King George Sixth School on the morning of Saturday the 30th.
Local events company, Treasure Island Promotions, is bringing the group here.
Owner Henry Star Dora said the group’s coming is the beginning of a long line of events his company is planning for this year.
Mr Dora said they are glad to bring this well-known dance group to entertain and give the general public something unique and different.
“We believe that the public deserves to have such events to make our town lively, enjoyable and a great place to live, work and also visit,” Mr Dora said.
“It is a great opportunity for our local artists to learn from these professionals during their visit here.”
Meanwhile, he said since this event falls in time just after the Temotu disaster, part of the money raised will be donated to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami.
“Since this is for a good course, I encourage the public to come and support,” Mr Dora said.
He said only limited number of corporate tables are available for the show at the Mendana Hotel therefore interested business houses must make their bookings now or miss an opportunity of a life time.
Corporate tables cost $15,000 and the show at Multi Purpose will cost $50 for adults and $20 for children.
