BRED Bank Solomon is the mourning the loss of one of its top officers who suddenly passed away in Honiara.
Head of Retail, Robertus Bochman, 65, was called to rest on Sunday13 August.
A statement from the bank said, “BRED Bank Solomon mourns the loss of our Head of Retail, Mr Robertus Bochman who passed on this morning, Sunday 13 August 2023 at the National Referral Hospital.”
Rob, as most knew him, was a friendly face at the bank, the statement said.
He joined BRED Bank Solomon in October 2016, overseeing teams from both Kukum and Point Cruz branches for the past six year.
“His passing is still a shock to us. We will miss him deeply. We send our sincere condolences to his family and children. Until we see you again, Rob, rest well!” the statement said.
Rob has over 35 years banking and consultancy experience and had served over 17 years in the Pacific.
Apart from his role at BRED Bank Solomon, Rob also served in other significant positions in Solomon Islands.
He was also the Honorary Consul of the Republic of France to Solomon Islands and the Vice Chairman of the Solomon Airlines Board.
Last year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade (MFAET), Jeremiah Manele handed over the Exequatur to the him as the newly appointed Honorary Consul of France to Solomon Islands.
Minister Manele at that time congratulated the Honorary Consul and reaffirmed Solomon Islands bilateral relations and cooperation with France.
