A POSSIBLE bail application will be made in court next week for three men accused of involving in a clash that broke out with another party at the Water Front nightclub.
George Gray of Public Solicitor’s Office will apply for bail to Paul Junior Maenu’u, Lency Maenu’u and Henry Maenu’u.
The brothers appeared in the Honiara Magistrates Court last Thursday for pleas to be entered but their lawyer Mr Gray however, informed the court he will be going on a study leave.
This means that the matter would have to be re-allocated to another lawyer from the Public Solicitor’s Office.
Mr Gray will however, lodge the bail application for them.
The brothers are jointly charged with one count each of threatening violence.
Prosecution alleged they clashed with another group of their close relatives over family matter on the afternoon of May 13.
Members of the other party were charged with going arm in public and had been released from custody last week.
The two parties in the late afternoon last Friday (May 13) allegedly clashed with violence against each other at the Water Front.
They were allegedly armed with bush knives, iron, rods, rocks, stones, rubber slings, bow and arrows.
Police alleged that the Friday incident involved the two parties swearing at each other which caused fears to the members of the public.
This is a domestic family matter that later escalated into the clash of violence between the two groups.
Police Prosecutor John Palmer is prosecuting.
