JUST over a month after the torching of the Bank South Pacific (BSP) Ranandi Branch in East Honiara during the illegal rioting, looting and burning, another BSP Central Branch in Point Cruz, Honiara was stoned again on Monday night.
No doubt the stoning has tainted a bad image for the country.
Following reports of the incident members of the public have strongly condemned such unlawful action.
Comments have since flooded the social media calling on the law enforcement to take tough penalties on such behaviour.
One commentator said this attitude must stop in order for the country to progress with the rest of the regional neighbours.
“It’s time to learn some hard lessons. Sick and tired of seeing such brainless activities. This nation needs some good control, a hard one that will do away with unwanted activities.
“If not then apply the same as Vanuatu, identify the culprit deal with them according to the law then after deport them to their village and not to enter Honiara for the period of two years,” the commentator said.
Central Bank of Solomon Islands (CBSI) yesterday also condemned the act and calls for respect on all facilities that are being placed to provide services to the public.
Yesterday a private contractor had to be engaged to fix the broken glass wall.
When contacted yesterday Police Media Unit yesterday, said no report had reached the police media team to confirm if there is any arrest made in relation to the matter.
BSP suffered a loss of SBD$20 million for the burning of Ranadi Branch.
