Each year to celebrate Pink-tober BSP staff would normally wear something pink and then make a small donation for funds to be used for cancer research.
Funds raised are then matched dollar for dollar by BSP, a statement from the bank said.
“BSP staff has been wearing pink for Pink-tober for 5 years and while initially there was some resistance from the male staff in wearing pink. But we now have an almost 100% participation from all staff,” the statement said.
Additionally, at Carols in the Islands in December 2019, BSP gave out Helium Balloons for a $5 donation and these funds were also used as part of this donation.
“Unfortunately all of us know of a family member or friend who has had cancer and BSP staff are proud to have raised this amount to assist the NRH Cancer Unit,” the statement said.
BSP has challenged more businesses to get involved with Pink-tober in 2020.
