BURI Community High School (CHS) in North Rannoggah, Western Province has successfully conducted its student-and-teacher orientation programme on Monday.
The student-and-staff orientation programme saw teachers introduced themselves and the subjects they teach to the students.
The orientation programme included the imparting of advices by teachers and also the sharing of experiences between teachers.
School Principal Owen Bulehite spoke to Solomon Star about the orientation programme in an interview.
“Student and staff orientation saw teachers introduce themselves to students with their respective subject designation.
“The introduction was followed by the imparting of advices by teachers to students and sharing of experiences between teachers,” Mr Bulehite said.
During the orientation, Mr Bulehite highlighted the progress of the student results and challenges and urged all new Form 6 students to do more to improve their academic performance so that they can be the Form 6 pioneers of Buri CHS for this year.
Mr Bulehite said the School Chairman Roby Paul encouraged new form 6 students to aim for high exam pass rates to go further in their educational journey.
He said Mr Paul also encouraged new students and staff to adjust to their new learning environment and feel at home.
Mr Bulehite said Buri CHS has grown with the enrolment of students as well as teachers.
“Last year we had 13 teachers and this year we have 18 teachers,” he added.
The school introduced its first form six this year.
Buri Community High School is a growing community school and is the only institution in Rannoggah that offers senior secondary school classes.
The school is operating under the Western Province as the Education Provider.
