Busu cultural center in the heart of Langa-Langa Lagoon, Malaita province will on Friday host the biggest number of tourists ever when 140 foreign tourists will grace their shore on a cruise boat this morning.
The last time that the Island cultural centre hosted a cruise boat was 29th of November 2016 when 80 guests visited the centre on cruse ship Caledonean Sky.
This was arranged by the Zegrahm Expeditions in partnership with a local tourism operator Destination Solomons.
Busu Cultural Centre managing director Benard Dakero Bataiasi said the visit today will see the largest number of guests so far to have arrived at the centre.
Mr. Bataiasi said they are ready to welcome the tourists. “Having a cruise boat on our shores is always a joyful time and beneficial for the community.”
He said tourist visit on the island creates a perfect avenue for women of Busu to earn money by selling their traditional home made artifacts to the tourists.
“This had worked well for women and the community on the island during such visits.”
Apart from the sales and demonstration of local artifacts entertainment will also be provided.
