An EAST Makira constituent has urged the constituency’s re-elected MP, Alfred Ghiro to dump his former Constituency Development Officer (CDO), Samuel Waitara.
Mr Waitara had come under intense criticism during his tenure as CDO over the manner he administered the constituency’s development funds.
Wanione chief, Robert Wetara claimed Mr Waitara had fooled the constituency and its people during his tenure, so he must not be re-engaged.
“For the last term, Wetara has been making false promises to us about the release of financial reports,” Mr Wetara said.
“Our only call is for MP Ghiro to get a new CDO who can work together with the East Makira people.”
In 2013, when interviewed, Mr Waitara said “Due to constituency’s work, I am sorry that the report was delayed. And yes hopefully the report will be released soon.
“I’m looking at next month. Hopefully it will be ready by next month, and I will distribute it during the MP’s tour to the constituency.”
It’s not clear whether he released the report or not.
