THE old bailey bridge located at White River, West Honiara is in need of repair after one of its steel platforms gave way.
The bridge now poses risks to vehicles passing through it.
Vehicle owners and taxi operators who are accessing the bridge daily are requesting immediate repair to the bridge.
This old bailey bridge is located just before White River Clinic and Police Police Station.
The bridge used to have timber platforms. However, several years ago, it was replaced with steel platforms.
In the past week one of the steel platforms collapsed forcing vehicles to use the narrow side of the bridge to cross.

The poor condition of the bridge has also posed risks to vehicles that normally cross the bridge, said a driver Mulex Shaju.
He added, responsible authority need to inspect the bridge.
Now some of the large pick-up trucks cannot cross the bridge.
Meanwhile, the second road which runs from the main road at 01 bus stop to the White River clinic is also cut off after the culvert was dug out few years ago.
This is because it is usually blocked during heavy rain and flooding.
Residents said, a new high bridge news to be built at that particular section.
The Ministry of Infrastructure Development (MID) has been contacted on Monday for comments.
MID Media office said, a response will be issued later.
